Engine brand The engine decides the spare parts availability and the response time of your local service partner. Compare the service network first, the price second. Yangdong — 15 models in this series
Prime or standby Prime is for sets that run 8 to 12 hours a day, standby for emergency backup. Size the set so your load sits at 70 to 80 % of the standby rating — that keeps the engine between 50 % and 75 % load, where the fuel consumption is at its best. Standby 9–56 kW, prime 8–50 kW
Voltage and frequency 400/230 V at 50 Hz for Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, 230/400 V at 60 Hz for the Americas. The alternator and the control panel both have to match the grid you connect to. 50 Hz, 400/230 V
Enclosure Open frame for a machine room, a silent canopy for an outdoor city site (about 65 dB(A) at 7 m), a container for a 1000 kW block and a trailer for a mobile set. Open frame, silent canopy, trailer and container options
Starting and transfer An emergency set needs electric start and an automatic transfer switch, otherwise the set sits idle until the grid fails. Manual and air start stay available for special duties. Electric start, ATS (automatic and manual) on request
Paralleling More than one set means a power management system, a larger transfer switch and a control panel that lets the sets share the load and take over from each other. Parallel systems with power management
Site conditions Every 1000 m of altitude and every 10 °C above the standard ambient costs about 3 % of the rating, and a salt spray or a dusty site asks for a canopy and a shorter service interval. Standard rating at 0–50 °C, derating on request

Eastern Lion Yangdong series diesel generator sets combine Yangdong diesel engines with our own brushless alternators and a reliable control panel. The table below lists the standard 400/230 V, 50 Hz models with prime and standby ratings to ISO 8528. Open frame, silent canopy, trailer, ATS and parallel configurations are available on request.
